Alana English is a designer of elegant and authentic hand crafted headpieces.
From a young age Alana had a passion for design and fashion.
Originally Alana worked in the Fashion Industry after graduating from St George and East Sydney Technical Colleges. She studied both Fashion Design and Fashion Technology winning the College Medal and the Fashion Group Award.For many years she worked as a Womans Fashion Designer eventually creating her Couture Bridal and Evening Wear business.
Alana has also taught Fashion and design at Tafe but came to realise her passion was millinery.
After raising her family she decided to pursue a career in the fabulous world of Hats and Headpieces.Creating pieces for herself and her friends to attend race meetings she came to understand she truly loved making beautiful hats
Alana has furthered her knowledge of the art of millinery by attending workshops and conventions with some of Australians best known milliners and International Milliners.
In 2019 Alana's entry in the Melbourne International MillineryAward was placed in the top 20. She also had a headpiece that was chosen and exhibited at London Hat Week in the XTerrace Gardens Of The World Millinery Exhibition
Alana is a member of the Millinery Association of Australia
Alana designs contemporary bespoke headpieces as one offs.
